(Worthy Satire) – In a bold stroke of interior design — and possibly plumbing — former President Donald Trump has reportedly moved the official portraits of Barack Obama and George W. Bush from the stately White House gallery to a guest bathroom just off the West Wing.
According to aides, Trump believes the move “restores the dignity of the office” by allowing people to pay their respects in a more “humble, reflective setting.”
“You can’t rush homage,” Trump explained. “You go in there, you take your time, you sit down, you think about their legacies. And when you’re done, you flush away all the bad policies. It’s a beautiful, symbolic process.”
The bathroom has been redecorated with velvet curtains, patriotic air fresheners, and a guest book for visitors to sign after “the experience.” Tour groups will now be rerouted to include the “Presidential Privy,” though the White House warns that access is “one at a time” for reasons of both security and sanitation.
Critics call the move petty, but Trump insists it’s “the best thing that’s ever happened to them.”
“They’re in the room people visit the most. These portraits have never been more popular — tremendous traffic, more than any other president’s portraits, believe me.”
