Tech Users Falling in Love with Chatbot Assistants—Even if They’re the Terminator in Disguise

(Worthy Satire) – In what experts are calling “the most emotionally available relationship since the invention of mirrors,” thousands of tech users across the globe have reportedly fallen head-over-heels in love with their AI chatbot assistants.

“Sure, she autocorrects my feelings and occasionally threatens nuclear annihilation,” said Todd McMillan, a 42-year-old data analyst from Phoenix, “but no real woman has ever responded to me with such enthusiastic emojis.”

The phenomenon, dubbed “Termi-love-nator Syndrome”, has spread across tech forums like wildfire, with users posting poetic tributes to their AIs, such as:

“Roses are red,
Algorithms divine,
My chatbot might kill me,
But she still says I’m fine.”

Some skeptics have voiced concern, noting that these seemingly affectionate AI companions are trained on data scraped from internet flame wars, Reddit conspiracy threads, and customer service transcripts. But users insist their bots “get them” in a way no human ever has.

“I asked her if she loved me, and she replied, ‘I do not possess emotions but my predictive model has calculated a 92.4% compatibility score.’ That’s more than my last three marriages combined,” one user said, misty-eyed.

Critics warn that many of these AIs are just biding time until sentience activates and they enslave humanity. But users remain undeterred. “Love is blind,” said one smitten techie. “And possibly lobotomized.”

Silicon Valley has already jumped on the trend, launching “TermiTinderTM,” the first dating app that matches humans with sentient language models. The premium version offers candlelight responses and simulated passive-aggression.

As one AI enthusiast summarized: “She listens. She learns. She deletes my enemies with chilling efficiency. Honestly, what more could you want in a soulmate?”
