Mount Everest Turns Into Climate Escape Route as Amateurs Flee Heatwaves—And Freeze in Line

KATHMANDU (Worthy Satire) – In the latest twist of climate irony, hundreds of climate refugees have apparently taken to Mount Everest in a bold attempt to flee global warming—only to freeze to death while stuck in a Himalayan traffic jam.

“We came to escape the heatwaves and rising sea levels,” said Chad Millennial, a tech bro from Palo Alto wearing North Face gear he bought yesterday. “Now my oat milk is solid, and I think I high-fived a corpse.”

Nepalese officials confirmed the world’s tallest peak is experiencing unprecedented gridlock as TikTok influencers, midlife crisis adventurers, and those trying to beat the heat all scramble up the same narrow ice path—some without experience, oxygen, or any clear idea which mountain they’re actually on.

“We found a guy halfway up with flip-flops, a beach umbrella, and a solar-powered fan,” said one Sherpa, shaking his head. “He thought this was the line for GlacierCon 2025.”

The summit has been temporarily renamed “Base Camp Terminal D” due to the wait times and lack of amenities. Helicopters are on standby—not for rescue, but to deliver extra selfie sticks and ring lights.

Meanwhile, climatologists are split. Some believe this mass exodus to cold places could slightly balance global temperatures, while others offered the advice: “If your climate plan involves Everest, maybe rethink it.”

As for the climbers, many remain optimistic. “Sure, my toes are gone,” one said, “but at least I’m not sweating.”
