Harvard ‘Honesty’ Researcher Fired for Lying–Study Finds Irony Levels Off the Charts

CAMBRIDGE, MA (Worthy Satire) – In a development that has left both ethicists and stand-up comedians speechless, a Harvard behavioral scientist who specialized in the study of honesty has been fired for allegedly fabricating data in multiple studies.

Dr. Justine Truehart, whose most cited paper was titled “Why Good People Don’t Lie (and How to Be One),” is now under investigation for possibly making up entire datasets. Sources say the research was so fake, even AI refused to cite it.

Harvard released a statement saying, “We take integrity seriously–especially when it’s completely made up. We wish Dr. Truehart all the best in her next endeavor, possibly as a political consultant or crypto influencer.”

When reached for comment, Dr. Truehart said, “I never lied. I just creatively optimized the truth.”

Ironically, her research had previously been used to train corporate ethics officers, advise congressional subcommittees, and develop the “Honesty Index,” which is now being repurposed as a satire metric.

Meanwhile, Yale has reportedly offered her a visiting position in its Department of Applied Irony.

Stay tuned for her upcoming TEDx talk: “The Truth About Lying About the Truth.”
