JERUSALEM — After spending millions on a floating pier off the coast of Gaza intended to foster economic development, the Biden administration officially labeled the project a dud, admitting that “we underestimated the whole water not being solid thing.”
“Apparently, concrete and waves don’t mix,” said a State Department spokesperson. “We thought we were building a bridge to peace. Turns out we built a bridge to nowhere.”
Engineers are now considering repurposing the structure as a high-priced tourist attraction called the “Gaza Wave Walk,” where visitors can experience what it’s like to sink millions into a sinking platform.
